How it works

How Staffyou WFM connects to AFAS

Staffyou WFM has an open, documented and versioned API for shifts, scheduling, hours, profiles and invoicing. Payroll and HR packages such as AFAS connect to it. We build the integration, or your own developers or coding agents do it using the API documentation.

What gets connected is decided together during implementation: which employee data comes from AFAS, which hours and allowances go back after approval and how corrections are handled. We build new integrations in weeks, not months.

  • Open API for shifts, hours and profiles
  • Scope and direction per implementation
  • Build yourself or let Staffyou build
  • Demo with your own AFAS environment

Hours that are right before they reach AFAS

An integration is only as good as the hours that pass through it. Staffyou Compliance checks working-time law and collective agreement rules while planning, again at clock-in and once more at hours processing. You see deviations before they reach the payroll run.

Employees clock in on their scheduled shift and managers approve hours digitally. That means fewer corrections go to AFAS, because errors are caught earlier in the chain. Per shift you can see which rules applied and which check was performed.

Step by step

Step-by-step plan for an AFAS integration

An AFAS integration takes four steps: agree the scope, build, test and go live. You can roll out per location, so it does not have to be a big bang.

First we agree together which employee data comes from AFAS, which hours and allowances go back after approval and how corrections work. Then we build the integration on the API, or your own developers do so using the documentation.

Next you test with your own data and exceptions, ideally at one location or department first and in parallel with your current way of working for a while. Only when the outcome is right does the integration go live more widely.

  1. Scope: data, direction and corrections
  2. Build on the open API
  3. Test with your own data and exceptions
  4. Run in parallel, then go live widely

What to test in the demo

An API or a logo on a website does not prove a working integration. Ask for a demo with your own AFAS edition and data, including exceptions: a new employee, a correction to approved hours, an allowance or someone leaving.

Then record which data goes in which direction and who may make which change.

Costs and data

Cost and data

Staffyou WFM costs €0.15 per scheduled hour, with the first 500 hours per month free. Unlimited users and locations, cancellable monthly and without setup fees.

Your data is hosted on Azure in the EU, strictly separated per customer, and fully exportable via the open API if you leave.

Hours first

Errors often start before the integration

Many payroll integration errors do not arise in the integration itself, but in the hours that go into it. So Staffyou WFM checks the rules while planning and again over the hours worked. What goes to AFAS has been approved and checked.

Background

Why connect scheduling and HR

Often the employee lives in the HR or payroll package, and the roster and hours in another system. Without an integration you enter data twice: a new employee in AFAS also has to go into scheduling, and approved hours have to go back to payroll.

Every manual handover is a chance for errors and delay. An integration makes clear which system is the source. HR manages the employee, scheduling uses that data, and approved hours from Staffyou WFM go to payroll without retyping.

Can I connect AFAS to Staffyou WFM?

Yes, through the Staffyou WFM open API. AFAS is one example of a payroll and HR package you connect this way, so do not assume a ready-made AFAS connector. The API gives access to shifts, scheduling, hours, profiles and invoicing. Which data moves between AFAS and Staffyou WFM, and in which direction, is agreed per implementation. Have the integration shown in the demo with your own AFAS environment.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a standard AFAS integration for Staffyou WFM?

Do not assume a ready-made connector. Staffyou WFM connects to payroll and HR packages through the open API, and AFAS is one example. The scope is agreed per implementation. Ask for a demo with your own AFAS environment.

Which data can flow between AFAS and Staffyou WFM?

The Staffyou WFM API exposes shifts, scheduling, hours, profiles and invoicing. Which of those are exchanged with AFAS, and in which direction, is decided together during implementation.

Can I build the integration myself?

Yes. The API is documented and versioned. Your own developers or coding agents can build on it, or you can send us a request.

How long does it take to connect AFAS?

We build new integrations in weeks, not months. Lead time depends on the scope we agree together.

What does Staffyou WFM cost alongside AFAS?

Staffyou WFM costs €0.15 per scheduled hour, with the first 500 hours per month free and unlimited users and locations. Any costs on the AFAS side run through your own AFAS contract.
